Why Go With Just Anyone When You Can Partner with an Award Winning Hot Rod Shop?
They say that if you do what you love, you'll never work a day in your life. Sure, we get the thought in theory, but in truth, our team at Customs & Hot Rods of Andice are some of the hardest working professionals in the business and their passion for the business shows in the results. Our shop is proud to be not only the recipient of a number of awards that ranks us as a premier award winning hot rod shop, but our knowledge of the industry has also recently led us to being selected to create trophies and winners for the Builder's Choice awards at Forth Worth's Summit Racing Lone Star Nationals. In announcing the selection, Goodguys had this to say:
"In 2019, fifteen of the Nation’s Top Hot Rod and Custom car builders will select Goodguys Builders Choice awards. These elite builders will create hand crafted, one off award to be presented to the Top 10 hot rods, customs, street machines and trucks of the event during Sunday’s awards ceremony."
Thanks for the kind words, we can't wait to get started!
In fact, many of our followers might not know this, but being named such by Goodguys is an especially big honor for us as it was at one of their shows that CHRA took home their first big award of "America's Most Beautiful Street Rod". It happened at Goodguys 27th annual Flowmaster West Coast Nationals -- the biggest gathering of hot rods and & customs in the western United States -- and the hot rod of honor was their 1933 Ford Roadster. That same year, the hot road was also shown at the Detroit Autorama and won "Best Hot Rod" first in class.
2016 & the Year of the Ridler Award
While 2013 was the first big year of being placed as an award winning hot rod shop, it was 2016 that really brought home the gold. But those intervening years were not spent lollygagging. In 2013, Billy and Debbie Thomas of Corpus Christi brought in their 1939 Oldsmobile Series 60 Convertible into the shop and over the course of three years, our team took on the daunting task of breaking her down and building her back up to an uneclipsed splendor.
That sweat and time paid off. In 2016, the customized Olds Cool was taken to Detroit's annual Autorama event where it won the highly coveted Ridler Award trophy which represents the ultimate in custom design brilliance and is among the most desired of recognitions a shop can hope for. This same car also won the 2016 GoodGuys Street Rod of the Year award, the 2016 Hot August Nights award in Reno, and the 16th annual Mothers Shine Award.
